My Best Fast Food Experience
As a 17 year old with a driver's license, I was asked to run to Sonic to get a special treat of slushes for the family. At this point in my life I was nervous about certain situations. I didn't want to talk to the post office workers about sending a package, by myself, let alone order from the drive-thru window.
So, with three younger siblings telling me, "Just do it! It's fine. Do it.," I sat there in the drive-in for almost 15 minutes, working up the nerve to press the red button. I felt as if the red button was to "start in motion" a situation where I had to take charge and be an adult. I know it sounds silly, but at that time it was very intimidating. It made me anxious to know that when I press that button, I would need to answer the voice on the other end and make an order. In the end, I pressed the button, ordered out treat, paid, and made it home with out incident. The would didn't end, the voice didn't threaten me, and the slush was very good.
Fast forward 10 years later, I am a pro at shipping packages, shopping, and ordering food on my own. I no longer dread the red button, but certain situations still affect me.
Anyway, back to the best experience. While in the middle of a trial day at a potential job, I decided to get lunch at sonic. It was very busy with a long line for the drive-thru, so I decided to drive-in instead. After pressing the button, now non-threatening, the worker on the other end said they would get back to me in a few minutes. Seven minutes passed, so I pressed the button again and ordered my food. The worker was very apologetic for forgetting about me, that she offered my lunch at half price. Then, she said that she would go ahead and make my food would be complimentary. How wonderful! I was so surprised that they would do that.
That was my best Sonic, even fast food, experience. What was your best experience at a fast food restaurant, or at any restaurant? Let me know in the comments below.
